While almost anybody can capture a good video, it isn’t that straightforward to capture audio, at least if you aren’t a pro, you’ll probably struggle.

Where the audio isn’t good enough, it’s probably better to replace it with music or voice over of your own.

Step 1: Download and Install Movavi Video Editor

Click on the link below to download Movavi Video Editor. Once the download is complete, open the set-up file and follow the guide to install the software.

Step 2: Add Video

Launch the program and click on the create project in full feature mode option. Next, click Add Media Files and choose the video you would like to edit – once you select a video, it will be automatically added to your Timeline.

Step 3: Remove Audio

To remove the audio from any video, simply click on the original audio track on your timeline and then click on the Remove button as shown below.

Step 4: Add Your Voiceover or Background Music

Select Add Media Files and choose an audio track you want to use – once you import one, it will be automatically added as an Audio Track.

Note:

2. Replacing Audio in a Video with Windows Movie Maker

Step 1: Open Windows Movie Maker and then use the Add Videos and Photo option to import a video.

Go to ‘Edit” tab > “Video Volume” icon and then drag the slider to the left to remove the original video sound.

Click “Add music” to choose your desired audio track. there are two options; you can either choose to “Add music” or “Add music at the current point.

Click “Save movie” to save your project on your computer.


3.  Replacing Audio in a Video with iMovie on Mac

Step 1: Launch iMovie and click New > Movie and choose a black theme to start a new project.

Step 2: Locate the folder where your video is, and then drag and drop to import it into iMovie.

Step 3: To remove the default audio from the video, select the video on your timeline and right click on it, a drop-down menu will appear, select the Detach Audio option.

The audio will be removed from the video and added to the timeline. To completely remove it, select it and hit “Delete” on your keyboard.

Step 4: To add a music or voice over of your choice, go to the folder on your computer where the file is stored, then drag and drop It on your timeline.

If the audio file is longer than the video, click on the audio, and then drag the playhead to the exact place you want the audio to end, then right click on it and select “Trim to Playhead” to remove the extra audio.

Once you finish, you can preview the video and then export it to save your project.
